Holiday Season
We haven't been together as a family for Thanksgiving in three years. I had a lot of fun being with my brothers, I didn't want it to end so soon. There was something about overeating, not
working out and watching movies all day, that I was starting to like.
Our Thanksgiving Holiday started out with a Turkey Bowl Football game with all my family (mom and dad included) and cousins. Natalia was sitting on the side line working on her
cheerleading moves too. It was nice to see my mom and dad do something active (this year together they have lost over 80 lbs.)
After the game off to Irma's for dinner. WOW! We started out with these for appetizers. Then everything from yams, potatoes, and everything you could ever want on Thanksgiving.

Deliciousness!

Most of the recipes came from William-Sonoma.
I made pies for the first time this year. It was accompanied by a rarity; Blue Bell Ice Cream.
We played board games, watched a ton of movies, ate and just hung out for 3 days straight.
We also took some family pictures. That was not fun.

I set aside time to make books; it's such a relaxing hobby!

It's an advent Calendar book and it's perfect for Christmas time. I thought of it too late but I will be selling these at the beginning of October next year (or if you want to pre-order now you can also do that and I can get it to you as soon as I am done.)
Next on my list:
Finish our christmas stockings
Cam's birthday
come up with an amazing drawing for my almost final project
clean up my cluttered office

In the Spirit of Thanksgiving
I love this time of year!
My mom has kept a journal for a couple of years where our family writes the small things we are most Thankful for that year. It's so nice to take a small break and really ponder on the things you are most grateful for.
So this year I am thankful for:
Cam, the perfect fit for me. His love, support and patience. For motivating me, keeping me focused, and making me laugh. I can go on and on but it'll get mushy.
My mom who has helped me so much in the past 2 months, she kept me positive during a hard time in my life, her constant support and the most amazing Christ-like example.
For a supportive dad who inspires me and supports me creatively, for thinking my drawings are amazing, for his humor.
laughing, hard times, a testimony, warm blankets and clothes, health, muscles, modern medicine, people who inspire me.
Hope you acknowledge the small things you are grateful for.
Happy Week!

Bahamanian
A few weeks ago we cruised down to the bahamas for a very rejuvenating vacation.
It was so nice to be able to go with friends. It was funny, Cassi and Caleb were sick the first day, Kate is pregnant and I was sick so we were just right for each other. We managed to do a lot of fun and relaxing things together.
We headed out to sail a catamaran...
and then off to snorkeling.
Here is Cam snorkeling.
the water is so pretty!
and I feel like we ate ALL the time!
Last day on the boat we played shuffle board, laid out, ate, drank pina coladas and watched the beautiful sunset. One of my favorite days!
(cassi, I stole your picture)
It took us 3 days after the cruise to adjust being on land. I felt like our house was constantly rocking.
We enjoyed time away from our monotonous life!

C is for Cotton
It started out by going to Carrabba's (where we met). We scored free smoothies, pizza, and dessert. Paid for by Clay our great friend and Proprietor. Thank you again!
After dinner we were off to Salt Lake for the Pinback concert. Great company and amazing performance.
Then to a peaceful night at the Homestead and reminiscing about our adventurous 2 years together.

And every year, without fail, Cam gets sick. He was sick on our wedding day and last year's anniversary.
What a great year it's been! This year I am most grateful for Cam's constant support! Wow, it has been a very hard month and Cam has seriously done a lot; from cleaning the house to making sure I have a shoulder to cry on. He's one-of-a-kind!!! Sandy, THANKS A MILLION, you've raise an awesome son! Read more...

Fun on Monday night
Cam did such a great job over the summer and won tickets to a couple Jazz games. Last night we took advantage and headed up to the Jazz/Rockets game. Cam, a Houstonian, dressed up with his retro Rockets gear (ode to Olajuwon) while I dressed up with my Jazz gear.
Cam was the only one rooting and cheering for the Rockets in a sea of Jazz fans. I seriously thought he was going to get beat up. He had right to do it; the Jazz weren't playing so well.
Cam managed to get a high-five from various Rockets players after the game.
We had lots of fun and enjoyed being out of the house! Cam has done so much for me the past month.
We are hoping November to be a better month for the Tolmans. We will be celebrating our 2nd year Anniversary and spending our Thanksgiving in Steamboat, CO. Hopefully just skiing and drinking hot chocolate.
P.S. My computer needs calibrating. Sorry the pictures are so yellow..blah

Just got back from Vegas
This should hold you over for a while.
She only worked for tips. Fortunately, we had no cash.... then I just managed to take a photograph at the right time.

Little Homemaker
I have been moaning and groaning because I've been unmotivated to do anything at all. I feel like I clean, wash the dishes and do laundry and that's all I have energy to do. So this week I decided to kick myself in the butt, suck it up and do something with my free time.
My favorite part about today was planning our meals for this week. I have never liked to cook because I grew up with a mom who was obsessed with cooking so I became a really good dishwasher and "get-this out-of-the-freezer-downstairs" kinda helper. I hated being around the kitchen. When I got married it was even worse, it was hard enough going to school and working full time and it was impossible to find time to cook. I've found that if you actually plan for it, it's actually quite enjoyable.
Our menu for this week
Monday
Mexican Enchiladas with Rice
Tuesday
Crab legs and shrimp with potatoes, corn and rice
Wednesday
Breaded Chicken with potatoes and penne and Lima Soup
Thursday
Chilaquiles and some sort of lentils
Friday
Stuffed Peppers
Saturday
Bombai House?
Sunday
Dinner at the Lopez's
I'm excited to eat!
and it gets better Carmel Apples for dessert....

If you want to be an architect you have to write like one
Right now I'm suppose to be writing the alphabet but I'm procrastinating (like always) so I decided to blog about how I'm suppose to be writing the alphabet. I even spent an extra minute taking a picture. Maybe I should make lunch instead.
Currently all I do is eat, write the alphabet and work on the insane amount of pictures I have on my computer.
oh but how i love it!
